1 = Very low safety level. Only old equipment available. Some pitches have to be secured by yourself with mobile equipment (friends, stoppers, etc.). You probably need some pitons, a hammer, or even anchers.
2 = The bolts are placed far apart from each other, but the equipment is realtively new. Difficult passages have to be climbed. Long falls possible. Mobile equipment (friends, stoppers, etc.) is needed for additional safety.
3 = Challenging, only important bolts have been placed. Mobile equipment (friends, stoppers, etc.) is needed for additional safety.
4 = Good protection available. A bolt every 2-6 meters. Due to the surface structure of the rock, mobile equipment cannot be used.
5 = High safety level. A bolt every 2-3 meters.
Various = Consult the topo or guidebook to find information for a special climb. The safety level in the different climbs varies extremely.
