Climbing above the Voralpsee

Beginning in 1991, this spot was discovered by Andreas Audétat. Quickly, this slightly overhanging climbing spot got known far across the border of Switzerland. During the summer, many climbers visit this awesome spot. This area is characterized by largely vertical routes that are long and sustained in character, so bring yer’ guns! The space between protection bolts can be rather run-out as one gets higher so take care! Since most of the routes are 7c+ and quite burly, you would be better off if you can climb in the 8a grades. The Voralp is a good summer climbing spot, because of its north-facing orientation and the high altitude. In addition, the nearby lake offers good sun-bathing/swimming possibilities.
