One of the last great discoveries in the Berner Oberland
One driving with his car from Meiringen in the direction of the Susten and takes the direction Gental will reach the cosy and small Engstlenalp where is located one of the oldest Mountain Hotel in Switzerland. Its owner Fritz Immer gave this crag its name: Fritzland. Thanks to his initiative the first routes has been opened in the early 1980 but to further bolt routes he called the Remy brothers. During 2001 and 2002 more than 70 routes has been opened in this beautiful limestone. Don't be afraid as the wall looks not that perfect but the magnificent limestone invite to climb steep routes from 30m to 120 metres length. The Engstlenalp is a perfect summer climbing area not far from the classic climbs of the Sustenpass. Don't miss to visit one of the best climbing spots in the Berner Oberland! You will love this place in between cow bell ringing and cheese fondue!
