Best multipitch routes in the Berner Oberland

Every route at Wendenstöcke has its own fascinating opening story. The routes going up to 22 pitches are outstanding and of excellent rock quality. Because of the lenght of the routes you have to begin climbing early in the morning and so it is recommended to spend the night before the climb in one of the perfectly equipped bivouacs. The trails leading to the routes are sometimes exposed and hard to find. Good shoes are necessary! Since the routes are very demanding, you should master the difficult level.

Hints

  • Warm clothes should be taken with you when climbing these routes. Fog and wind may come up during the day.
  • Bivouac available. Take a sleeping bag and cooking stuff with you.
  • Partly, it’s difficult to find the access path.
  • When it’s raining, the huge water masses may create dangerous rockfall!
